Character Summary

Remy LeBeau, better known as Gambit, is a mutant able to charge objects with explosive kinetic energy, most famously using playing cards as weapons. Charismatic, cocky and highly skilled in combat, Gambit tends to approach danger with considerably more swagger than caution. His abilities make even ordinary objects potentially devastating in his hands.

Gambit is portrayed by Taylor Kitsch in X-Men Origins: Wolverine and by Channing Tatum in Deadpool & Wolverine. The two appearances represent different versions of the character rather than a straightforward continuation of the same Gambit.

Character Summary

Wade Wilson is a mercenary whose experimental treatment leaves him with an extraordinary healing factor and a severely scarred appearance. Adopting the identity Deadpool, Wade combines considerable combat skill with relentless sarcasm, chaotic decision-making and an unusual awareness that he is a character in a fictional story. Beneath the jokes and violence, however, his relationships and fear of losing the people he loves are often what drive him.

Character Note

Ryan Reynolds first appears as Wade Wilson in X-Men Origins: Wolverine, but that film transforms him into a version of the character very different from the Deadpool later established in his solo films. Deadpool effectively gives Reynolds and the character a fresh start, and the franchise subsequently jokes openly about the earlier portrayal rather than treating the continuity particularly seriously.

Peter Maximoff is portrayed by Evan Peters throughout the Fox X-Men films.
